General Hire & Service

  • Do you offer same-day delivery?

Yes! Unlike many of our competitors, we can often provide same-day service for our skip bins across Brisbane. Give us a call early in the morning, and we’ll do our best to get a bin to your property that day.

  • How long can I keep the skip bin?

Our standard hire period is flexible to suit your project. Most customers keep their bin for 3–5 days, but if you need it longer or want it gone sooner, just let us know when booking.

  • Will the skip bin damage my driveway or grass?

No. Our bins are unique because they are fitted with wheels. Unlike traditional metal skips that are dropped heavily onto the ground, ours roll into place gently, preventing stains on your concrete and keeping your lawn alive.

  • Do I need to do anything to prepare for the bin’s pickup?

When the driver arrives to remove your bin, they will tarp it down to prevent pieces from falling out, so please ensure your waste does not go over the sides of the bin.

Loading & Sizes

  • What makes Skips Ahoy’s bins easier to load?

Every single one of our bins comes with a rear door. You don't have to lift heavy items over the high sides; you can simply walk your rubbish straight into the bin. It’s safer for your back and lets you pack the bin more efficiently.

  • What size bin do I need?

We use a "Match Your Trash" system:

    • 2m³: Small garden tidy-ups (approximately 2 standard trailers).
    • 3m³: Large garden tidy-ups, small house tidy ups (approximately 3 standard trailers).
    • 4m³: Household debris and small furniture (approximately 4 standard trailers).
    • 6m³: Large cleanouts, sofas, and white goods (approximately 6 standard trailers).
  • What if I’m not sure how much rubbish I have?

We recommend ordering a larger bin (4m³ or 6m³). On the day of collection, you can pay for the level the rubbish actually reached (2, 3, 4, or 6m³). It’s the most budget-conscious way to handle an unpredictable cleanup.

Waste & Regulations

  • What CANNOT go into the skip bin?

To comply with Queensland waste regulations, we cannot accept:

    • Hazardous Waste, Liquid Paints, Poisons, Chemicals, Toxic Waste, Gas Bottles, Oils.
    • Hardfill Waste such as Soil, Bricks, Concrete, Gravel
    • Tyres
    • Medical waste: syringes, gauze, bandages, etc.
    • Liquids: oils, chemicals, poisons, etc.
    • Vehicle components: car bodies, parts, etc.
    • Asbestos

Asbestos can only be removed by licensed transporters. You must NEVER place asbestos in our skip bins. A fee of $400 applies if asbestos is placed into our bins.

  • Can I put asbestos in the skip?

Strictly NO. Asbestos is a hazardous material that must be handled by licensed transporters. Placing asbestos in our bins is illegal and carries a $400 penalty fee plus disposal costs.

  • Do you take mattresses & white goods?

Yes! We accept fridges, washing machines, and electronic goods. Please note that mattresses incur an additional $30 disposal fee per item.

  • Can I use my BCC (Brisbane City Council) Dump Vouchers?

Absolutely. We offer a discounted rate for customers who provide valid BCC Dump Vouchers. This can save you up to $30 on your total hire price.

Payment & Booking

  • How do I pay for my skip?

We accept credit cards and EFTPOS. You can pay at the time of booking or at the time of collection if you are using our "pay-for-what-you-fill" service.

  • How do I book a skip bin?

The easiest way is to call our friendly team directly. We’ll confirm your size, the delivery date, and any specific placement instructions for your property.
